The Consultants of Sri Sankaradeva Nethralaya have participated in various national and international conferences/ forums as invited faculty, Key note Speaker, Chief Instructor(s), demonstrating live surgical skills etc., which had brought accolades not only for the Institute but also for the entire state. Among those, a few are listed below:



Dr. Harsha Bhattacharjee

1. Dr. Harsha Bhattacharjee has been honored with FRCS in Ophthalmology by Royal College of Surgeons, Glasgow for his outstanding contribution in Ophthalmology. Dr. Bhattacharjee was also honored with FRCP(Edin) for his outstanding contribution to community services.


2. It is worth mentioning that Dr. Harsha Bhattacharjee is the first Indian Ophthalmologist to have both FRCP(Edin) and FRCS(Glasg).


3. Dr. Harsha Bhattacharjee has received iFocus 2018 icon Award , 2018 in recognition of his excellence in clinical ophthalmology and exemplary leadership and institution building skills on January 28,2018 by Centre for Sight, New Delhi.


4. Dr. Harsha Bhattacharjee, has received ‘Eye Health Hero’ by the International Agency for the Prevention of Blindness (IAPB) FOR 2017.


5. 1st prize winner in ‘Best research paper award 2020‘ in Clinical section by SSUHS.


6. Achievement award by Asia Pacific Academy of Ophthalmology (conferred in Tokyo, Japan)


7. Life Time Achievement Award for Medical services to the society by 10th Assam Sports & Cultural Festival Organizing Committee on the 93rd birth anniversary of Ironman Premadakanta Sarma.


8. ‘Eye Health Hero’ Award by The International Agency for the Prevention of Blindness, London, UK.


9. ‘Danwantary Award’ by Brahmaputra Pushkar and Cultural Festival, 2019.

Dr. Damaris Magdalene

1. Dr. Damaris Magdalene presented a free paper in World Ophthalmological Congress (WOC) 2018 at Barcelona, Spain.


2. Dr. Magdalene was invited as a Faculty in the Conference of Strabismus and Paediatrics Ophthalmology Society of India 2018.



Dr. Manabjyoti Barman

1. Dr. ManabJyoti Barman presented a free paper at APVRS- 2018 at Seoul, South Korea from 14th to 16th December 2018.



Dr. Nilutparna Deori

1. International hero award 2020’ at Gurugram by All India ophthalmological Society for her numerous academic achievements in international conferences in last 3 years.



Other Awards

1. Dr. Divakant Misra was awarded the prestigious Professor Yasuo Tano Award and International travel grant (March 2017) at the Asia Pacific Academy of Ophthalmology (APAO) annual meet held at Singapore. The coveted awad is given to only ten young ophthalmologists from the whole of Asia pacific region. 2. Dr. Divakant Misra was awarded the prestigious Asia Pacific Vitreo-Retina Society’s (APVRS) Tano Award at the APVRS annual Congress (December 2017) held at Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. 3. Dr. Pritam Bawankar was awarded the prestigious Keshmahinder Singh Travel Grant at the APVRS annual Congress (December 2017) held at Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. 4. Dr. Diva Kant Misra, Fellow – VR Department has received awards in different forums like ‘International Hero Award’, AIOC 2019, KOS International Travel Grant 2019, APAO Achievement award 2019 and was also invited as a Faculty for delivering a talk in EURETINA, Vienna 2018, Leadership Development Program – APAO, Bangkok, 2019.
